Keystone Habits

In changing behaviors in an organization, some matter more than others. Identify the keystone habit by figuring out what habit loop influences how people work, spend time, and communicate more than others.


Habit loop: Cue... routine... reward.


First: find a simple and obvious cue. Second: Clearly define the reward.


Incentives are the cornerstone that drive the habit loop.


Keystone habits start a process, that over time, transforms everything.


Keystone habits say that success doesn't depend on getting everything right, but instead relies on identifying a few key priorities and fashioning them into powerful levers.
